Allotments
This section of the site provides a guide to Old Bolsover’s Town Councils allotment gardens which are available to rent on an annual tenancy January to December. If you are interested in an allotment garden you will need to register your details with the Council who maintain an Allotment Garden Waiting List for all sites.
Please read the current tenancy agreement, this document tells you the do's and don'ts and also refer to the list of charges which are reviewed annually.
Garden tenants are reminded that they must apply to the Council in writing to obtain the necessary permissions if they want to put any structures or introduce livestock to their garden. Please await the Council's formal letter of approval and permission before you embark on any works. All sites now receive regular inspections and tenants will be advised in writing of any breach of their individual tenancy agreement by means of a 15 day Improvement Notice.
More information about allotment gardening can be obtained from the National Association of Allotment Gardeners or from the Allotment Association based at Oxcroft Lane.
Allotment Garden sites are at: Bentick, Carr Vale, Longlands, New Bolsover, Oxcroft Lane and Shuttlewood.
